F1

There are three kinds of famous world's sports.
It is Olympic, World Cup, and F1.
In Korea, we held Olympic in 1988, Seoul, 2002 World cup, and F1 in 2010, Young-am.
This feast held out 2010 October 23th and 24th, today and tomorrow.
To celebrate this ceremony, many famous singers came to Mokpo.
F1 stadium is in Young-am, however there are not many places to sleep,
the F1 players will come to Mokpo and then they will sleep and eat.
I didn't know that F1 is one of the World's famous sports
before I had a research about it.
I wish there are no accident and no people hurts. ^^

The question that Koreans are asked in foriegn countries

There are four questions that Koreans asked by foreigners.

'Are you Chinese?' "NO."
'Then are you Japanese?' "NO, I am from Korea."
'Are you from North Korea?' "No, I am from Republic of korea."
'Where is Korea?' "It is between China and Japan."

Many foreign economists say that Korea is the country that is going to be a great country.
I think so, too. Koreans are in the center of Korea Wave. We can do what we can do. The questions will change into...

'Are you from korea?' "Yes."
'I want to go to Korea, I think it
is the best country in Asia. "Thank you"

I want to be a citizen of this proud country.

The idea of this story is from www.prkorea.com
And we can see the video about it^^

Dokdo festival

Welcome to Dok-do Festival!

This festival is held up with Korean singer Kim-jang-hun.

We always say that Dok-do is Korea's territory.

Then do you know the reason?

He will tell you the reason.

This picture is from http://www.prkorea.com/

I translated it in English.

How about Korea?

I had a research for a state in the U.S.A. This state is California.

California is the south-west state in America. This state is located south of Oregon, north of Mexico, west of Nevada, and Texas. This state is the third largest state in America after Alaska and Texas.

In 1848, people found gold in California so many people went to California to mine gold. So this place became the state of America in 1850, the 31th state. And just in 160years. People became 35,893,799 in 2004. May be it was the almost same population of Korea. It's weather is really mild that it rarely go over 32°C or go under 0°C except for really special places. Colorado desert's summer summit temperature is 54°C. California's average rainfall is 75~100mm a year, however Redwood woodland rains about 1,778mm for average. So it has really different weather from places to places. In U.S.A there are many special things in a state.

Then how about Korea?

Do you think that Korea has these special things? No, because our land is really small. However in my way of thinking, korea is smaller than California, so not many things are special, however we, the Koreans are special.

Koreans can do everything because we made our country by 50 years what I wrote, and we are so special.*^^*

This country was the colony for 36years. And there was the war between the country and became the one of the country which GPS is 67dollars. And this country was crashed that general Douglas MacArthur said "This country has to work all day and it will take 100years to take its own shape.

However this country became its shape in a really short time, 30years. And it was the country which held the 1988 Olympics and it became the country which is the 9th economy country. And the country which is one of the G20. And third country which serve the other countries.

Baek-Jae

Baek-Jae was the country which send many various cultures to Japan. Baek-Jae also was a big country. If Baek-Jae didn't lose in the battle with China, we would be Baek-Jae's people. Because the land where Baek-Jae was is Mokpo, where I am living.

Baek-Jae was very developed country at that time. Baek-jae send cultures to Japan, even the son of Goguryeo's king built the country the power was almost the same. And they were the fastest country which took over Seoul and made their heyday.

Baek-Jae was the country that made a lot of things like towers, and Buddah's temples and so on. Baek-Jae's culture is very calm and specific. So that they call Baek-Jae's culture is Women's Culture.

I am very proud that the place where I am living was the place of one of the strongest but calm country.

Yoko's story

There is a lady who's name is Yoko.

She is really old lady she is about 70years old. She lived in Nanam, which is North Korea's territory. She made a book, and it was the best seller in New York Times, and also it makes Korean more cruel, immoral.

She said that Nanam has a lot of bamboo bushes, But it is a cold area so Bamboos cannot grow. Second, she said that US B-29(a jet plane) didn't bombed the Nanam area where she lived, also There was no North Korea soldiers there in 1945. So she wasn't disturbed by the soldiers. North Korea Soldiers' Corps were built in 1948, three years later, and before that period she was safely back to her country, Japan.

So in my way of thinking Yoko said lie and her book has to have name that 'Sorry, I lied'. Since she made our Korean's prejudice bad, she has to say sorry for everyone who read the story and Koreans.

Bal-Hae

All Koreans think that Balhae is Korea's history, but Chinese says that Balhae is their country because most of Balhae people came from China. However We Korea has a specific reason why Balhae was our territory and our history.

FIrst, Balhae's tomb looks like Goguryeo. They are both our history because Balhae is the country that was made after Goguryeo, so they are our history.

Second, in the book in Japan and poems in China saids that Balhae is Korea foreign country, and in 'BalhaeSa', the Balhae king wrote that he is the king of Goguryeo.

Third, Balhae uses Ondol, the floor heating system from Goguryeo, since they are in the cold places they used floor heating.

I think that Balhae is definitely Korea's history.

The way how the world see Korea

If there are 100people in the World, and if the world is a small village,
there are 51 men and 49 women. There are 27 children and 73 adults.
There are 61 Asians, 1 Austrian, 12 European, 13 American and 13 African.
There are 30 white people and the rest is people like us.
A person is going to die from starvation and 13 people cannot drink clean water.
Only 10 wealthy people have cars.
And 40 people use 80%of energy and 60 people share 20%.
20 people have 60%of the villages money and 77 people share the rest and 3 people do not have any money.
In the village 3 people go to University and 6 people have computer and 13 people cannot even talk.
Then can you know that Korea is the one of the best countries in the world.
This is the way how the world see Korea.
WE have to take pride in our country, Korea.

East sea and Sea of Japan

Historically East sea is Korea's history, because many historical artifacts says that East sea and Dok-do is Koreans'.
Not only Korea's artifacts say so, Japanese 19th centuries world map depicts East sea as Joseon sea which is more likely to be korea's territory. How ever there is more good idea of depicting one sea with two names.

Frist idea is to write the name East sea and Sea of Japan together. Then the two ideas go together. So this idea don't need any mathematical dizzy calculations.

Second idea is to have a territory limited line to depict the national border that we can have the western part of the sea and japan can have the eastern part of the sea.But my idea likes to be more peaceful, I want that Japan and Korea share the sea and name the sea Kopan(??) sea which have both Korea and Japan.

Jik-Ji

Dear my friend, I watched a video about jikji which is the world's first movable metal duplicating system. I think Korea was very developed country and so is now, too. As Koreans made movable metal duplicating system 78years before the second, Europe, Germany's Gutenburg metal duplicating, system. And now Korea i the first country making the best cars, and ships. May be the people who makes cars and ships is descendant of the ones who made the world's first movable metal duplication system, jikji. And as Jikji is the first movable metal duplicating system, it can become Korea's promotion product. And if we find alien, our Jikji can be the world's promotion product, too.
So I would like you to say that the Korean's are not the people who need help and we are one of the strong countries in world. As you see Jikji, I hoped you had better mind about Korea. Come to Korea and watch this wonderful and miraculous Jikji. Jikji is in Korea, chung ju. Come and see our Jikji^^
Sincerely, from your friend.

King Sejong the Great

Including the fields of Politics, Economy, Culture, Military, as a matter of course, Numerous achievements of King Sejong(세종대왕) had developed Joseon(조선) into the most powerful and most scientifically advanced country in East Asia.

1411, He invented Cheugugi(측우기), an instrument to measure precipitation by collecting raindrops. 1434. He invented Jagyeongnu(자격루), a time alarming machine with an automatic system of a bell, jing, and drum resounding at exact moment by water. 1443, King Sejong created Korean alphabet - Hangeul(한글), which is recognized as the best letter in the world.

People's happiness was the number one concern of his politics. First, King Sejong was a great king who always considered people's hardship and tried to do his best to make people's life better.

The most apparent example of King Sejong's affection towards the nation was the establishment of the Korean alphabet, 'Hangeul.' King Sejong established 'Hangeul' despite the strong objections from many government officials, who were maintaining their power by using Chinese that the common could not easily understand. On the other hand, anyone could easily learn and write the newly established language. The ultimate purpose of the establishment of 'Hangeul' was to eliminate the hardships of the illiterate and to enhance their lives.

King Sejong was especially fond of reading books and was a prominent scholar. Also, he gained wisdom and power needed to be a good king by long periods of mental training. Considering that the first sentence of the epitaph inscribed on his gravestone was that he was excellent with his studies, we can see how passionate he was about knowledge.

Fourth, running the country's affairs through debate and conversation. It is known that King Sejong enjoyed debating with his followers at dawn. Debate was one of King Sejong's most important daily schedules that enabled him to think over his people's sufferings and to be always awakened like a keeper of his country.

In addition, in a society where kings had absolute powers, he was a king who valued and loved his intelligent followers even if they disagreed with him or criticized him. Also, even though he was a king who had absolute power he didn't run his country imperialistically but decided many issues through discussion.

Immortal Admiral Yi Sun-sin

Naval Battle of Hansando
Jul 8. 1592, The Naval Battle of Hansando

A fleet of 72 led by Admiral Yi Sun-sin
Facing a Japanese combat fleet of 82,
Admiral Yi Sun-sin lured the enemy into the narrow Hansando channel using 5 Panokseon battleships
He spread his fleet across both flanks,
and reared its head toward the massive Japanese fleet
His HakIkJin tactics had the Japanese fleet surrounded.
Korean ships behind the island waited in ambush.

A Geobukseon ship infiltrated the middle of the Japanese ships.
The Japanese fleet scattered. The battle was on.
47 Japanese ships were torpedoed, 12 were captured, and some 8,980 Japanese hands were injured. Casualties among saviors of Joseon were minimal.
The Naval Battle of Hansando - Admiral Yi Sun-sin Admiral Yi Sun-Sin, with more than 40 naval battles under his belt, went undefeated in his naval career.
At the Battle of Myeongryang, the Admiral Yi’s force, 12 combat ships, completely wiped out a Japanese fleet of 130, with nary a loss.
His naval tactics, his thorough knowledge of topography,
and his fine personality, made Admiral Yi Sun-Sin respected even among apanese forces. In the early 20C, there were some fierce naval power struggles.
In one such battle, Japan, led by Admiral Togo Heihachiro, showed what could only be considered as careful study of Admiral Yi Sun-Sin’s tactics at the Battle of Hansando.
